    For a Dream

Words and Music by Dawn Xiana Moon

If I write this down then will it make the hazy clouds be real
And if I say aloud am I dooming the warm phone to fail
Browner grass will never contain jealous as it feels
But if the inner heart is wrong then how much time will heal

How can Shakespeare's friend compete with Gladiator's size
Or the Roman wife he loved so much, a princess in his eyes
Stories full of history say, "Forsake the new for old"
But when the end is written does it leave a person cold

Reach for a dream, and if you catch it don't let go

The leaf she wonders could be shaken easily from trees
But north or south or east or west, it has me crying please
Answers up in heaven seem so difficult to hear
Even when I know they're there for a listening ear

'Cause music dances on a stage and doesn't sleep at night
While understanding lives for day and stays far out of sight
Obsessions fill the closet and disparities are clear
Meanwhile stare at ceiling wondering, "How did I get here?"

How did I find my way here?
Now am I too scared to leave?
