    What Music Had

Words and Music by Dawn Xiana Moon

All of her tries to catch the notes are gone
She struggled in vain to hold the song
For over a moon she'd waited for the melody to speak
Time was running out and the hourglass was weak

But in her fantasy world the notes and her were one
But in her fantasy world the harmony was strong

But music had a life all his own
But music had a love all his own

    And as the hourglass broke
She tried to forget all of the ways the melody said
    Not yet
Drowning in sand, she clung to the air and locked up her glass dreams
She hid in her songs, in the dark
And her music poured in streams

And in reality's world the notes and her were wrong
And in reality's world, the harmony was gone
